This Wednesday the 5th of February is significant to Darwin as it marks the date in 1869 when a team of 135 men landed in Darwin Harbour to survey and explore the land ready for a settlement the eventual Palmerston and now Darwin City. The public can take a journey back in time with events held in Darwin to commemorate the occasion. It will include an opportunity to walk around historic sites with guides and the Roadmasters House will be open as a museum with photos, maps and instruments on display.
